Liverpool v Newcastle United: Both Arne Slot and Eddie Howe have a number of injury concerns to deal with this weekend.
Eddie Howe’s side were impressive in the Champions League in midweek, earning a creditable draw against reigning European champions PSG. The Magpies earned that point without their captain, Bruno Guimaraes, who remains a doubt this weekend after sustaining an ankle injury earlier this month.
Liverpool, meanwhile, lost Jeremie Frimpong to injury on Wednesday night and know they won’t have the services of Alexander Isak available to them against his former employers. Here, we take a look at the latest injury news from both camps ahead of the Premier League meeting between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield.
Liverpool injury news v Newcastle United
Alexander Isak - out
Isak will not feature against his former side. The Swedish international, who has returned just three goals in all competitions following his £130m move to Anfield, broke his leg last month and has been ruled-out of action for a number of months.
Giovanni Leoni - out
Leoni, once courted by Newcastle United, suffered an ACL injury in September and has been ruled-out for the rest of the season.
Conor Bradley - out
A knee injury will keep Bradley sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

Joe Gomez - out
Gomez is closing in on a return to action, according to his manager, but he will not be fit enough to face Newcastle United.

Fabian Schar - out
Schar suffered an ankle ligament injury against Leeds United earlier this month and has been ruled-out of action for the foreseeable future.
Emil Krafth - out
Krafth’s versatility has been a huge miss in recent weeks as Newcastle United’s defensive injury crisis deepens. The Swedish international is not expected to feature against Liverpool.
Tino Livramento - out
Livramento joined Newcastle United’s growing injury list earlier this month after suffering a hamstring injury during their win over Bournemouth.Howe revealed on Friday morning that Livramento would be out for another five or six weeks, with a return date in March expected to the England international.
Joelinton - out
Joelinton has been ruled out of action for the foreseeable future with a groin injury. Howe confirmed that the Brazilian would be out for ‘weeks rather than months’. He won’t feature against Liverpool.
Jacob Murphy - doubt
Murphy returned to the bench on Wednesday night but wasn’t required to play. Howe has insisted that the club will move with caution in regards to his return to first-team action.
Will Osula - doubt
Osula was named on the bench on Wednesday but didn’t get a taste of action. He netted in the reverse fixture back in August against the Reds.
Bruno Guimaraes - doubt
Guimaraes suffered an ankle injury against PSV last week. He was forced to watch their defeat to Aston Villa from the St James’ Park stands on Sunday afternoon before being an unused substitute in Paris. He is regarded as a doubt to feature at Anfield.
