However, Arsenal did get back to winning ways in the Champions League, as they beat Kairat 3-2 in a game which saw star performances from both Viktor Gyokeres, and Kai Havertz.
If they manage to beat Leeds on Saturday, Arsenal could go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table over rivals Man City.
Leeds United injury news
Leeds could be without four players, as they have four names in doubt ahead of Saturday’s clash at Elland Road. Firstly, centre-back Jaka Bijol is a doubt, as he is recovering from a hamstring injury, and is currently being assessed, but unlikely to feature.
Bijol is in a similar position to Lukas Nmecha, who is also a doubt with a hamstring injury, and is currently being assessed. Daniel Farke said on Thursday: “Lucas reported during the warm-up at Everton, some problems with the hamstring. This was also the reason I didn’t bring him on. It is not a major thing – we have assessed him.”
Winger Dan James is recovering from a hamstring injury, and he is back in training with a chance to feature at Elland Road on Saturday. He is currently being assessed this week over his potential return.
Finally, left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson is recovering from a groin issue, and is also being assessed. The Leeds boss believes he could play on Saturday. Farke said: “He was not in team training yet, so far, but we have obviously two more days. And yeah, perhaps, even a little chance that he makes this game.”

Arsenal injury news
The Gunners have one player ruled out, and two in doubt heading into the game at Elland Road. Max Dowman has been ruled out with an ankle injury that he sustained in early December. He isn’t set to return until next month at the earliest.
William Saliba missed the midweek game against Kairat, but will hopefully be back for the game this weekend, as his knock is only a minor issue.
Jurrien Timber is in the same position as Saliba, as he is more likely to play for the Gunners this weekend, but there is still an element of doubt.
Mikel Arteta spoke about the pair ahead of the midweek game against Kairat. He said: “No, [they] are not [available]. They have some niggles… It’s a good opportunity now that we make a different kind of work with them to get them in the best possible condition for the weekend, hopefully.”
