Steve Kerr provides Steph Curry knee injury update after Pistons loss

Steve Kerr said he's optimistic Stephen Curry's right knee soreness isn't "anything major" after the Warriors star exited Friday's loss to the Pistons: "I think he's okay."

Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry exited Friday's 131-124 loss to the Detroit Pistons due to right knee soreness, which became the team's primary concern.

After the game, head coach Steve Kerr expressed optimism that the issue isn't serious.

"I think he's okay. I don't think it's anything major, but we'll have an update tomorrow," Kerr said in the post-game conference.

"It was the knee that kept him out of the game in Minneapolis. It's been nagging him for the last week or so," Kerr added.

Curry first appeared uncomfortable after drawing a three-point play on a stumbling layup with 4:28 remaining in the third quarter.

He was substituted shortly afterward and headed to the locker room, noticeably limping while being escorted by a Warriors staff member.

The team later announced that Curry would not return to the game.

He finished the night with 23 points, two assists, one rebound, and one block in 25 minutes of action.

With the loss, Golden State fell to 27-23 and sits eighth in the Western Conference.
