Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend, but their gaze may also be fixed on the looming transfer deadline this Monday.

The Gunners have until 2nd February to wrap up any potential new signings, should they decide to delve into the market. Mikel Arteta and his team are currently gearing up for a clash with Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend, eager to bounce back from last week's defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

The Gunners did manage to secure a victory against FC Kairat in the Champions League midweek which completed a fantastic 100% record in the table phase. But now the focus shifts back to their pursuit of the Premier League title.

In terms of transfers, Arsenal are being linked with a number of potential recruits, though it remains uncertain whether any fresh faces will join before Monday's deadline. football.london provides a rundown of some of the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours which have been making waves over the past day.

Reports suggest Arsenal are keen on securing the services of Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez. TEAMtalk has reported the Gunners are eyeing a move for Alvarez, hinting some players might be included in the deal heading the other way.

It claims Arsenal have been regularly scouting Alvarez in recent weeks, with two players being touted as part of a potential swap deal. Arteta's side may offer Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus as part of a potential swap arrangement for Alvarez, according to the report.

However, if this was to be carried out, it would not be this month, but rather in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal have emerged as one of several clubs reportedly monitoring Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. According to Caught Offside, the Gunners are set to go head-to-head with Liverpool for Camavinga's signature this summer, though it remains uncertain whether the La Liga giants would be willing to sanction his departure.

Liverpool are cited in the report as showing the keenest interest at present, but Arsenal are also understood to be exploring options to strengthen their midfield ranks, with Camavinga identified as a possible target.

Camavinga's valuation has been put at around £86million (€100million), though reports also suggest Real would be reluctant to part with the midfielder at any price.
