“Discussions are intensifying” – Journalist reveals player Liam Rosenior “wants” at Chelsea

Liam Rosenior wants to bring Mamadou Sarr back to Chelsea and conversations are intensifying to terminate the loan with Strasbourg according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Chelsea were expected to be quiet in January, but their plans changed and they are looking to bring in a new centre back before the end of the window.

The Blues have recalled Aaron Anselmino from Borussia Dortmund, and have identified Jeremy Jacquet as their primary centre back target.

Jacquet reportedly only wants to join Chelsea, but the Blues are yet to make an offer to Rennes, who are said to want £60m for the 20-year-old.

Chelsea are still pushing to try and get a deal for Jacquet done, with Liverpool also interested in the France under-21 international.

Whether a deal gets done or not remains to be seen, and Chelsea have reportedly also looked at recalling Sarr from Strasbourg.

However, in order for that to happen the Blues would likely need to get a replacement for Strasbourg, and Hawkins has provided an update.

He took to X.com and said:

“Exclusive Liam Rosenior wants to bring Mamadou Sarr back to Chelsea.

“The coach, who has spoken with the African champion, has made it a priority.

“Discussions are intensifying within the BlueCo group to terminate Mamadou Sarr’s loan.”
