If Chelsea fans could make one signing to add to their squad in the January transfer window, it is likely they would choose a centre-back.
Despite a positive Levi Colwill update from Liam Rosenior, he is still likely to be out for a prolonged period of time following his ACL injury.
This has left Rosenior to pick from the other options, and perhaps the biggest sign he isn’t too impressed with what he sees was that he named just one recognised centre-back against Napoli in the week.
The Blues have been strongly linked with Jeremy Jacquet this month, however it will take a big change to see them secure that deal in January, rather than at the end of the season.

Whenever Chelsea feel they need to do a deal with very little negotiating, it is always wise for them to look to fellow BlueCo club, Strasbourg.
The Ligue 1 side currently have Lucas Hogsberg in their ranks, who despite being just 19 has made 24 appearances so far this season.
His young age and links to BlueCo make him a very comfortable option for the Blues if they wanted to bring him in, as they’ve already shown with his teammate.
Chelsea have already secured the services of Mamadou Sarr, with talks suggesting that he could come back as early as this month.

Liam Rosenior is a big fan of Hogsberg
The current Chelsea manager already has experience working with the majority of the Strasbourg squad from his time in charge there.
It seems as if Hogsberg in particular has left an impression on Rosenior, with the Englishman full of praise for the youngster when speaking to Viaplay Sport Denmark.
He said: “He’s outstanding in possession, for his age, the defensive positioning, his speed, his biggest strength for me is on the ball, he’s fantastic in possession and I think he’s going to have an amazing career.”
One thing that’s for sure is that the club are not currently looking into more experienced options. They already missed out on Marc Guehi and Thiago Silva.
