Chelsea could be open to a loan deal for the teenager, with Everton among those interested.
Everton could make a late approach for Chelsea winger Tyrique George before the transfer window shuts.
As per reports in The Athletic, the Toffees would be interested in the winger, but could face competition for his signature.
The 19-year-old almost joined Fulham in a £22m deal last summer. However, Liam Rosinior’s side are reportedly happy for the youngster to be sent on loan this month.
The Toffees are likely to be without Jack Grealish for the remainder of the season. Indeed, David Moyes confirmed today that the 30-year-old may require surgery on a foot injury.
However, the Everton boss played his cards close to his chest with regards to potentially replacing the loanee.
When asked if Everton would enter the market following the news of Grealish’s prolonged absence, Moyes stated it was “less likely than likely”.
WILL GREALISH’S INJURY FORCE EVERTON TO ENTER THE TRANSFER MARKET BEFORE WINDOW SHUTS?
George has featured 11 times in all competitions for Chelsea this season, making just four league appearances.
The winger has scored three goals and contributed one assist, an impressive return in so few games.
Two of George’s goals came in the League Cup, as did his assist, while he scored his other goal in the Champions League.
The loss of Grealish’s creativity is a huge blow. The 30-year-old has been Everton’s most creative player this season, with two goals and six assists.
With Europe still a possibility, recruiting before the window closes would be a boost. Indeed, it would also be a sign of ambition and a step away from the ‘we’ll go with what we’ve got’ mentality.
It’s a positive sign, and with any luck, we won’t have to sit through Dwight McNeil’s unenthusiastic performances on the left for the next five months.
