Liam Rosenior has so far not been given one thing he was seeking assurances for before he took the job as Chelsea manager.
Rosenior reportedly asked for assurances in the January transfer market before saying yes to replacing Enzo Maresca after he was sacked.
The Blues have been strongly linked with the signing of Jeremy Jacquet, and even agreed personal terms with the promising young defender.
However, it is looking as if that deal is going to have to wait. Rennes are insistent on getting a record fee if they are to part ways with him this month.

The Blues have therefore looked to some of the youngsters they already have on loan, bringing an end to Aaron Anselmino’s impressive loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Another option is Mamadou Sarr, who is a key member of the Strasbourg side and was recently crowned AFCON champion with the Senegal squad.
The current Chelsea manager has plenty of experience working with the centre-back, and according to Fabrice Hawkins, has reached out to speak to him directly and made it a priority he comes back.
He said: “Liam Rosenior wants to bring Mamadou Sarr back to Chelsea. The coach, who has spoken with the African champion, has made it a priority. Discussions are intensifying within the BlueCo group to terminate Mamadou Sarr’s loan.”

Chelsea risking further hurting Strasbourg relationship
Strasbourg fans have never been great supporters of the BlueCo regime since they took over the Ligue 1 club, and Chelsea’s actions surrounding them have not helped the situation.
Poaching Rosenior while Strasbourg were in the middle of a campaign both domestically and in Europe did not go down well, and they have already strengthened their squad with some additions from the club.
As well as Sarr, club captain Emanuel Emegha will be joining Chelsea at the end of the season, and he was getting rough reactions from the crowd before he picked up an injury.
It is hard for Strasbourg to not see themselves as a feeder club for Chelsea, and this will only be further enforced if Sarr is brought back before his loan comes to an end too.
