Kevin Durant said nobody is ever breaking LeBron James’ all-time scoring record when asked whether he could break into the top two of the all-time scoring list.
At 37 years old, Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant still looks like his old self and continues his path toward becoming one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

Currently, Durant ranks sixth on the NBA's all-time scoring list. When asked by NBA podcaster Leigh Ellis, who also laid out the math on how Durant could catch Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for second place, Durant was surprised by how long it would take.
"268 games to catch Kareem? What's the average?" Durant remarked, also asking what he would need to average over that span.
When Ellis told him he would need to average 25 points per game, Durant admitted it would be difficult and said he wasn't sure he could catch him.
"Goddamn, I don't know if I can get 25 a game for 270 more games... I never want to say never, but those dudes set the bar so high. I think just about the top three or four, you need to play 20 years in the league and still be at that level for 15 to 20 years."

"If I end up there, it's cool. If not, I just want to be around and be in the league. It's always what I wanted as a kid—to be in the league," he said.
When talking about catching LeBron James on the all-time scoring list, Durant quickly responded that the record will never be touched.
"Nobody's ever catching that," Durant stated.
This season, Durant is averaging 26.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, and he is only 556 points behind Michael Jordan for fifth place on the all-time scoring list, with 31,736 career points.
