Former Bucks forward with two years of eligibility weighs in on returning to NCAA

Former Milwaukee Bucks and current Crvena Zvezda forward Jordan Nwora believes the current situation with professional players returning to the NCAA is getting outrageous and is not considering a possible return to play there despite having two years of eligibility left.

After the recent report about former Charlotte Hornets guard Amari Bailey considering a potential return to college, former Milwaukee Bucks player and one of this season's top EuroLeague scorers, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade forward Jordan Nwora, shared his opinion on the situation.

The former Louisville star still has two years of eligibility left to play in the NCAA, but his stance is clear: no ex-draft picks or NBA players should return to college basketball.

"I really have two years of eligibility if we go that route because of the COVID year! I love Louisville, but this stuff is getting outrageous. No way ex-draft picks or NBA guys should be going back to college unless it's solely for the purpose of getting a degree," Nwora wrote on X.

This season, Nwora has blossomed into one of the EuroLeague's top players, averaging 17.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

Before coming to Europe last season, Nwora spent four years in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, and Toronto Raptors.

In 206 career NBA games, he averaged 7.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game.

The situation began in December, when 21-year-old 2023 NBA second-round draft pick James Nnaji enrolled at Baylor and received four years of eligibility with permission to play immediately.

The decision sent shockwaves through the college basketball world, as it is virtually unprecedented for a player who has spent multiple years playing professional basketball and has already been drafted into the NBA to return to college competition.
