Leicester City would be signing a “very promising young player” if they can complete a loan deal for Manchester City’s Divine Mukasa before the transfer deadline.
It’s believed that City and Man City have agreed a deal for the 18-year-old, who now must decide if he wants to spend the second half of the campaign at the King Power Stadium.
City’s interim boss Andy King confirmed the teenager was a player that the club are pursuing, and that he’s been watched closely by the recruitment team.
The England Under-19 international made his senior Man City debut in September and has now made six outings for Pep Guardiola’s side, registering two assists.

At youth level this season, he’s scored seven goals in 13 games, including a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Uefa Youth League.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, Mukasa has played up front and in a deeper midfield role, as well as on the right wing.
“It’s clear we need bodies in,” King said after City’s 2-0 loss to Charlton on Saturday. “He’s a very promising young player.
“It’s something the club have been trying to pursue. If we can get him, that’s great news. We’ve seen a lot of him and we rate him very highly.”
City are desperately short of options in midfield. They’ve sold Boubakary Soumare this month, while Oliver Skipp, Aaron Ramsey and Jordan James all missed the defeat to Charlton through injury, with Hamza Choudhury then substituted with a knee problem.
Skipp is due to be back for the next game, but neither Ramsey nor James are expected to return until March and so Mukasa will likely compete with Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Louis Page for their midfield spots.
