Draymond Green believes Pistons' center Jalen Duren should be an All-Star this season.

The Golden State Warriors took on the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference in the Detroit Pistons. In a close battle, the Pistons pulled away with a 131-124 victory. Draymond Green finished with 15 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. He also knocked down four three’s.

After the game, Green talked about Detroit’s big man Jalen Duren and how he’s been playing this season. “He uses his body now and he plays with physicality now,” Green said about Duren. “It’s no surprise that he is going to be an All-Star this year because he’s learned those things.”

Duren finished the game against Golden State with 21 points and 13 rebounds. He has put together an impressive season so far and he is a strong candidate to be selected for his first All-Star Game. Green, who is a four-time All-Star knows what it takes to play at a high-level and become an All-Star caliber player. He’s seen the transformation Duren has made since entering the league and he put his stamp of approval on the talented big man.

Draymond Green Endorsing Jalen Duren for All-Star Game

Green made it apparent that Duren deserves to be in the All-Star Game. Duren is averaging a double-double this season with 17.9 points and 10.6 points per game. He has played a key role in Detroit’s success this season and a big reason why they are the top team in the East. At 22, Duren has gained a lot of experience in the league and is starting to put everything together.

Detroit’s big man has shown how comfortable he is with the ball in his hands. He’s become a threat on the offense and is using his strength and physicality to his advantage. His teammate, Cade Cunningham believes he has earned the right to be an All-Star this season. It’s only fitting for the top team in the conference to have two players represent the organization at the All-Star Game and there’s a good chance that could happen.

How Detroit’s Big Man Developed Into an Impact Player

Duren made his NBA debut at 18 and ever since he has improved his game each year. Now, in year four, he’s developing into a star player. He’s putting himself in a good position to receive a nice contract at the end of the season. Detroit will have to make a decision at the end of the season on whether or not they want to bring Duren back.

With how he’s been playing, it would be smart to bring Duren back as he’s been a big piece to the team. Detroit would not be where they are today without Duren and the impact he’s made on the court. He is gaining attention from others around the league and he is a player that is well-respected.

Not too many players get the chance to say they were an All-Star during their career. On Sunday, Duren will find out if he’s selected to the All-Star team. He already is an All-Star in his teammates and opponents eyes. It’s only right if he’s selected.
