Lengthy suspensions in the NBA aren't very common, but they do happen at times for various reasons.
On Saturday afternoon, it was announced that 76ers guard Paul George was being issued a lengthy suspension by the NBA, which he reacted to after the news came out.
Why was 76ers' Paul George suspended?
ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Saturday that George will be suspended for 25 games.
This suspension was issued to him as a result of "violating the league's anti-drug policy."

George won't return until at least Mar. 25, with only about 10 games left in the season.
Charania shared the following reaction from George regarding the suspension:
“Over the past few years, I’ve discussed the importance of mental health, and in the course of recently seeking treatment for an issue of my own, I made the mistake of taking an improper medication. I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to the Sixers organization, my teammates and the Philly fans for my poor decision-making during this process."

In those 27 games, he has averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
