Arsenal press conference LIVE: Mikel Arteta on Leeds United, Saka injury, Madueke and Odegaard

Arsenal restored their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a very encouraging victory away from home at Leeds United. After the disappointment of last weekend, it was so key that Mikel Arteta’s side responded, and they did brilliantly.

Bukayo Saka picked up a problem during the warm-up and was replaced in the starting eleven by Noni Madueke. It was indeed the right winger, however, who set up the first goal, swinging in at the second attempt for Martin Zubimendi to head past Karl Darlow.

Madueke was again heavily involved in the second, his whipped corner punched into the back of the net by Darlow as he tried to deal with it. It means that ‘own goal’ had joined both Viktor Gyokeres and Leandro Trossard as the joint top scorer in the league for the Gunners.

That was until the Swede added his sixth league goal of the league campaign, launching himself at substitute Gabriel Martinelli’s cross. Gabriel Jesus came off the bench and should’ve scored three but settled for the one.
