However, Arsenal star Noni Madueke insisted that Elland Road’s atmosphere was still tough to play under, and it makes the performance even more special.
He insisted that Arsenal were brilliant in all aspects of the game and is happy to leave Leeds with all three points and an excellent performance under their belt.
Madueke told Sky Sports**:**“Today we were excellent in all phases of play.
“Today was a top performance from us. It is a tough atmosphere here; it is a tough place to play.
“We deserved it.”
Leeds need to forget this result fast
The Whites were never the favourites to beat Arsenal today, despite their solid home record. However, it is safe to say no one expected a 4-0 pasting at Elland Road.
Arsenal wanted to respond after their defeat at home against Manchester United last weekend, and Leeds had to bear the brunt of the league leaders’ wrath.
Results against teams against Arsenal are not going to decide Leeds’ fate this season, but performances like these could impact the overall spirit in the squad
Farke needs to ensure that next week the Leeds players put this performance in the bin and move forward to the next challenge as soon as possible.
A win at home against Nottingham Forest next Friday night will restore the mood and the sense of optimisim, which has been dented by the defeat against Arsenal today.
