Philadelphia 76ers star forward Paul George set to lose a huge amount of his salary after being suspended for 25 games without pay for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, the suspension will cost George $11,742,293.

Although Marks noted that the 76ers will receive a tax variance credit of $5,871,147.

George will be moved from the active to suspended list after the 5th game and the 76ers will be able to sign an additional player once he is on the suspended list.

George's suspension will begin with tonight’s game between the 76ers and the New Orleans Pelicans.

The 35-year-old forward has appeared in 27 games with the 76ers this season.

In those 27 games, the nine-time NBA All-Star has been averaging 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.

The 76ers, meanwhile, are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 26-21 record.
