Knicks' Jalen Brunson achieves historic scoring feat in win vs. Trail Blazers

Jalen Brunson is largely responsible for the New York Knicks’ swift turnaround (they’re on a five-game winning streak after losing four consecutive contests).

While the Knicks possess one of the most talented rosters in the NBA from top to bottom, Brunson is the contributor who shines the brightest in New York and ensures the organization’s offense operates smoothly on a nightly basis.

Following the Knicks’ impressive 127-97 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, the X/Twitter account ‘Real App’ revealed that Brunson, who finished with 26 points, had achieved an impressive scoring feat.

“Jalen Brunson has passed 10k career points,” the stats-based account stated.

While Brunson was a solid, up-and-coming contributor with the Dallas Mavericks to begin his career, he ascended into super stardom upon joining the Knicks in 2022 via a free agency signing.

The Villanova product averaged 24.0 points per game on 49.1% field goal shooting and 41.6% three-point shooting in Year 1 with the Knicks, and things have only gotten better since then.

Brunson’s masterful offensive play has resulted in Eastern Conference Semifinals (2023-24 season) and Finals (2024-25 season) appearances.

With the Knicks getting a taste of postseason success under Brunson's leadership, the expectation is that the franchise will contend for a championship this season.

If Brunson continues to thrive as New York’s No. 1 scoring option, the Knicks could be in a special 2026 postseason.
