Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge send message to Alejandro Garnacho vs West Ham

Chelsea put in a horror first-half display against West Ham United, heading back to the changing rooms with a two-goal deficit to overturn.

It started with hesitancy from the Chelsea defenders and Robert Sanchez for Jarrod Bowen’s goal, and then Crysencio Summerville was unmarked to smartly finish 20 minutes later.

This seems to be a theme of Chelsea games of late; they find themselves chasing far too often and the defense looks extremely worrying.

However, one thing that won’t have helped is the weakened side that Liam Rosenior picked after only arriving back on Thursday morning from Naples.

But still, there is more than enough quality on the field to get a result against West Ham.

Garnacho is having a horrible time of things…

Is this Liam Rosenior’s biggest mistake so far today?

Alejandro Garnacho booed by Chelsea supporters

It was a first half to forget for Alejandro Garnacho, who gave the ball away almost every time he had possession. A huge disappointment considering Garnacho has been one of the best under Rosenior.

Chelsea fans were far from happy, as Pat Nevin (via BBC live blog) overheard their reaction to some of his periods of play in the first-half.

‘Chelsea fans have a strange relationship with Garnacho – it is not good at the minute. He has stopped going past Wan-Bissaka and his last few passes have gone to claret and blue shirts.

‘There is a bit of a feeling he has to do something to lift his esteem with the fans. He started confidently but has just drifted away.’
