5 Premier League clubs now all in picture for wonderkid–Arsenal were first there

Arsenal are now part of a much wider Premier League race for Palmeiras teenager Eduardo Conceição, after new reporting in Brazil revealed that five English clubs are tracking the 16-year-old.

Eduardo can only leave Palmeiras once he turns 18, on 7 December 2027. Even with that restriction, interest has intensified behind the scenes, with several European giants already making contact with the player’s representatives.

Arsenal no longer alone

Brazilian outlet UOL report that Arsenal are joined by Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United in monitoring Eduardo’s situation.

As we covered earlier, Arsenal were the first English club to sound out the player. A meeting with the player’s camp took place in London this week, and it all pointed to the Gunners. But as the latest update suggests the interest has now spread across the Premier League’s elite, it could be anyone.

The success of Estevão’s move to Chelsea is cited as one of the factors encouraging English clubs to act early. However, any deal would still need patience, given Eduardo’s age and contractual situation.

Outside England, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have already signalled interest through contacts with the player’s camp. Barcelona’s attention has gone beyond scouting reports, with the player’s parents recently receiving shirts from the Spanish club.

Contract, valuation and Palmeiras stance

After shining at the Brazilian Youth Cup, Eduardo signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras until January 2029. His release clause for clubs abroad stands at £86m (€100m).

Palmeiras and the player’s representatives align on one point: they will only consider a future sale for figures comparable to Endrick and Estevão, meaning above £52m (€60m).

Eduardo starred at the Youth Cup with four goals and three assists in seven matches, despite facing older opponents. A technically gifted attacking midfielder, he relies on close control, pace and confidence in one-on-one situations. Coaches at Palmeiras often compare his dribbling ability and direct running to Vinícius Júnior.

Palmeiras’ first team manager Abel Ferreira has already included Eduardo in discussions regarding his squad. The Portuguese coach previously stated that two academy players had “Endrick-level potential”, with Eduardo named as one of them.

Arsenal appeared early, but competition has now arrived in force, and the countdown to December 2027 has already begun.
