Real Madrid & Bayern Munich racing to sign £69m Arsenal star after shock Arteta fall-out -…

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are now in a shock race to sign a big-money Arsenal star, who has reportedly fallen out with manager Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal thrash Leeds to ease title concerns

Arsenal's trip to Elland Road had to be emphatic. It had to send a statement after last weekend's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. It's been a week full of anxiety since that result, with the Premier League title race suddenly deemed alive and well. But the Gunners may have just landed the first of many decisive blows.

They didn't just defeat Leeds United, who have been no pushovers as of late, they eased past Daniel Farke's side to go seven points clear ahead of Aston Villa's and Manchester City's games on Sunday afternoon.

Even after Bukayo Saka was forced to sit out after suffering an in ill-timed injury in the warm-up, goals from Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Jesus and an own goal from Karl Darlow saw the visitors grab all three points in Yorkshire.

It was a particularly positive afternoon for Noni Madueke and after replacing Saka and coming away with an assist, he told reporters: "Today we were excellent in all phases of play. Today was a top performance from us. It is a tough atmosphere here, it is a tough place to play. We deserved it.

"We're professional so we are prepared. Happy that we got the win. I appreciate the supporters, it means a lot that they come so far from home. We heard them the whole 90 minutes, they were top today."

So, on the pitch, all is well. But what about off the pitch? Reports are suggesting that Arteta may have a troubling situation on his hands as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid come calling.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid racing to sign Odegaard

According to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are now racing to sign Martin Odegaard from Arsenal this summer following a shock bust-up between Arteta and his captain.

The reported fall-out centres around differences in dressing room management, tactics and how the Norway international is used in North London. Things are now seemingly at boiling point just when Bayern and Madrid are sniffing around.

The deal, however, won't come cheap. If Real Madrid or Bayern want to sign Odegaard this summer, then they will reportedly have to pay around €80m (£69m) in what would be the biggest sale in Arsenal's history by some distance.

The Gunners aren't short on depth in Odegaard's position, with Eberechi Eze available and Ethan Nwaneri still one for the future, yet it would still be a shock move for them to sell their captain this summer.
