While an emphatic victory will be welcomed with open arms by Arteta, the Gunners boss will be frustrated to lose Saka to injury. The winger has been the club’s standout forward once again this season and with difficult games coming thick and fast, Arteta will be desperate for his player to return to fitness as soon as possible.
Speaking after the game to BBC Match of the Day, Arteta said: “To win 4-0 here is very difficult, let's see when the next time that happens. Big credit to the boys.
“The team showed a real dominance, resilience and character and obviously quality. I really liked the attitude of the team.”
On whether Saka will return to action soon, Arteta replied: “We don't know yet. He had a little niggle in the warm-up.”
The Arsenal boss was delighted with Saka’s replacement and explained that Madueke “reacted really well” after being “thrown out there when you least expect it.”
