Liverpool team confirmed to face Newcastle United in the Premier League at Anfield.

Liverpool have made two changes for their Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Anfield.

Ibrahima Konate returns for the Reds after missing the past three games. The centre-back was given compassionate leave following the passing of his father. Konate replaces Jeremie Frimpong, who is back on the treatment table after suffering a groin injury in the 6-0 win over Qarabag in the Champions League.

In Frimpong’s absence, Dominik Szoboszlai looks set to deputise at right-back, with Conor Bradley ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. On the opposite side of defence, Milos Kerkez replaces Andy Robertson.

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones is back on the bench after being ill for the Qarabag win. Jones has attracted interest from Inter Milan ahead of the transfer window closing on Monday. Arne Slot’s side are not interested in allowing Jones to depart, though.

Joe Gomez misses out on a place in Liverpool’s squad for successive matches because of a hip problem. There is no Newcastle reunion for Alexander Isak after his £125 million British record arrival last summer as he recovers from a broken leg.

A victory for Liverpool will lift them above Manchester United and potentially back into the Premier League top four.

Liverpool: Alisson, Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Salah, Wirtz, Ekitike, Gakpo.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Endo, Chiesa, Jones, Robertson Nyoni, Ramsay, Nallo, Ngumoha.
