Howe has sprung something of a surprise in attack, with Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa both starting on the bench.
Anthony Gordon looks set to lead the line, supported by Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes on the flanks. Barnes and Gordon replace Woltemade and Lewis Miley in the starting XI.
Kieran Trippier also comes into the side, replacing Sven Botman, who drops to the bench.
Trippier will play on the right of a back four alongside Malick Thiaw, Dan Burn and Lewis Hall.
Joe Willock and Jacob Ramsey keep their place in the side after their impressive showings at PSG and are joined by Sandro Tonali in midfield.
Bruno Guimaraes is missing from the squad tonight. The captain hasn't suffered a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury, but tonight's game has come too soon and the Brazilian needs a bit more time to recover. He will hope to be involved in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Manchester City.
