Draymond Green Calls Out 'Caucasian' NBA Referee After Controversial Call

Stop us if you've heard this before: Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green had a disagreement with an NBA official.

During Friday night's game against the Detroit Pistons, veteran referee J.T. Orr handed a technical foul to Green. The four-time NBA champion had an issue with a no-call involving Pistons forward Ausar Thompson.

When asked about the technical foul during Friday's postgame media availability, Green referred to Orr as a "Caucasian referee" and explained his side to the story.

"I find it very ironic that I got a technical foul for telling a Caucasian referee not to put his hand in my face," Green told reporters. "As a Black man in America, don't put your hand in my face. And I said, ‘Hey, don't put your hand in my face.' And I got a tech."

NBA fans fire back.

Judging by the replies to Green's comments, NBA fans aren't on his side.

"The world would be a better place if this dude wasn't allowed to speak into a microphone ever again," one fan said. "He is the rudest, most disrespectful person to other humans in the entire league on the court."

"Warriors went from one of the most likable teams to one of the most unlikeable teams. I started watching basketball again because of them," a second fan commented. "And I stopped watching baseball again because of them."

"This is pathetic from Draymond," another fan declared.

"I find it ironic that Draymond Green is taking this victim route-the same guy who has been assaulting people on the court since 2016," an NBA fan argued.

The NBA has not yet responded to Green's rant. It's possible he'll face some form of discipline in the coming days.
