The Beam Boys were the brightest spot for the Kings in a rough loss

After extending their current losing streak to eight games last night, the Sacramento Kings are now in the basement of the entire league. One of the few positives in the loss was the performance of the Beam Boys, who had great games basically across the board. It at least gives hope for the future.

At the core of the four-game win streak that now seems like a distant memory were four players. Specifically, Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud, Dylan Cardwell, and Precious Achiuwa. They began celebrating together after the wins and named themselves the Beam Boys.

[Since the return of Domantas Sabonis](https://aroyalpain.com/sabonis-likely-move-potential-destinations-surprising), usage and minutes for the Beam Boys have changed drastically. The player most impacted by this has been Raynaud, who went from starting center back to the bench. It's had a bit of a domino effect on the rest of the crew from that point on.

It's also not a coincidence that the win streak came to an end shortly after Sabonis's return. Again, the Beam Boys were the foundation for that streak. Changing their usage definitely had a negative impact on the team, which is why it was good to see them back in action against the Cetlics.

The Beam Boys made a return to the court

----------------------------------------

With Sabonis out, [Maxime Raynaud returned to the starting lineup](https://aroyalpain.com/maxime-raynaud-december-remember-roty-worthy) and made the most of it. He finished the game with 14 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, and one block. On top of that, he was incredibly efficient, shooting 85.7% from the field and 100% from both three and the free throw line.

Dylan Cardwell also came to play, which is par for the course for the rookie big man. He collected eight points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks. It was another solid defensive performance from Cardwell, who has installed himself as the Kings' main rim protector.

Then there's Nique Clifford, who was the Kings' second-highest scorer against the Celtics. He picked up 15 points, three rebounds, and 1 assist. Clifford went five for 12 from the field and three for seven from three. The efficiency isn't there yet, but it's great to see him getting more aggressive.

The Beam Boys aren't going to save the season for the Kings. There's just too much work to do on the roster to turn this ship around. But it's good to see them excel, even in a tough loss. It just continues to prove that they are the foundation for what Scott Perry is trying to build in Sacramento.
