**Max Kilman was brought on as a defensive reinforcement once again tonight for Nuno and ultimately ended up hurting rather than helping the trembling Hammers.**
It’s becoming a common theme that once fans are sat at home and they see Max Kilman substituted, a fear shakes inside them. He is consistently prone to making mistakes and he tends to be at fault for the Hammers frequently once a goal is conceded.
This evening, Chelsea sparked a comeback that made history for them. It’s the first time that they’ve ever come back to win a game from 2-0 down at halftime in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge! Wow, that’s hard to hear. It’s immensely painful to fathom the fact that Nuno’s side handed it to them on a golden platter and Kilman played a big part in that.
For Chelsea’s second, Kilman managed to head the on to the crossbar and in fairness, gave his best efforts to do so, but in all honesty, it’s his positining that os worrying, it appears that in the build up he looses focus, he doesn’t stay tight towards the defender which gives Delap the room rtor un in and subsequently he forgets where everyone else is located. If he had concentrated, he might’ve found himself in a better position to defend Delap’s attack.
The second one was poor, but it all went from bad to worse for the third. Woeful initial positioning once again leaves a massive gap open for Pedro to receive the ball and after being wrong-footed, the ball ends up in Fernandez’s path and he converts it to give Chelsea the win, rabbit out of the hat once again… but for the wrong team! He’s the gift that keeps on giving for oppositions.
To make matters worse, Max Kilman now has to start for the next three matches after Todibo’s moment of madness saw him sent off and now banned for the next three. Therefore, against Burnley, Manchester United and Bournemouth, Kilman will likely start unless a new defender is brought in towards the remainder of the window.
Our chances of winning matches and completing the impossible task of staying in the Premier League are becoming further daunting each week, and with Max Kilman being involved for 90 minutes, we likely will struggle even more than we already are, simply due to how mistake-prone he is.
