Arsenal have now reportedly held talks to sign a South American gem to become the favourites to secure his signature ahead of Premier League rivals.
Mikel Arteta praises "impressive" Arsenal performance
The pressure was on Arsenal as they travelled to Elland Road. Defeat would have allowed Manchester City and Aston Villa to close the gap on the Premier League leaders, who entered off the back of shock defeat against Manchester United last weekend. But pressure, as far as Mikel Arteta is concerned, makes diamonds.
The Gunners eased past Daniel Farke's men, thrashing Leeds 4-0 to extend their lead at the top before Villa and City play on Sunday afternoon, and Arteta had nothing but praise for his side.
He told reporters: “We’re very happy, obviously. A very impressive performance, a very impressive result.
“And in the context that we’ve done it. We knew about the difficulty of the game and the opponent that we’re facing, with a recent form and the style of play that they have at the moment, the energy that the stadium brings.

"And then the fact that after three results that didn’t go our way in the league, we really wanted to show how much we wanted it. And I think we said something on that today."
The result has allowed Arsenal to turn their attention back towards the transfer window, both ahead of Monday's deadline and the summer window.
Several rumours have already emerged on that front, including around the likes of Julian Alvarez at Atletico Madrid in what would be a blockbuster move, as well as a South American gem.
Arsenal now favourites to sign Eduardo
According to reports in Spain, as relayed by Sport Witness, Arsenal have now held talks to sign Eduardo Conceicao from Palmeiras. The Gunners are reportedly the current favourites to sign the 16-year-old, having met with him and his representatives in London.
A deal cannot happen until the Brazilian turns 18, however, which means that those in North London must track his progress from afar. They are also not the only side interested. Reports have also name-dropped Liverpool, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and others in pursuit of Eduardo.

The Gunners could lose one of their biggest stars.
The player, himself, is certainly one to watch after he was compared to Real Madrid's Endrick by Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira, who said that Eduardo has "Endrick-level potential".
If that is the case then Arsenal should go all in on the teenager, given that Endrick has shown exactly how good he is on loan at Lyon this month - scoring four goals in six appearances.
It would also be quite the statement from the Gunners when the time comes, given that there's so much interest from around Europe's top clubs, including plenty of Premier League rivals.
