It was the dream start for the player.

Weekend football is back in full swing, and matches have been played up and down the country.

Often, loan deals present players with the opportunity to start afresh, and to get the gametime they desire in a different place.

But they can also be a disaster, if the loanee’s new manager doesn’t see them fitting into his plans.

Lewis Koumas, after emerging into the first-team set up under Jurgen Klopp, was sent on a season long loan to Birmingham City for the 2025/26 season.

After starting just seven games in the league, Liverpool cut his loan move short in January, as the Birmingham club were not giving him the gametime they promised.

Hull City came in for Koumas, and he has now signed for them on loan until the end of the season.

Lewis Koumas’ new side took on Blackburn Rovers today, with the Liverpool loanee starting the game on the bench.

Aiming to work his way into the manager’s plans, he ahs come onto the pitch this afternoon and done just that.

With the score tied 0-0, and just four minutes after coming on, Lewis Koumas’ 81st minute debut strike grabbed all three points for his new side.

Playing predominantly as a winger/forward, here’s to hoping Koumas kicks on now, after a dream start to life at Hull City.
