Mavericks vs. Rockets: The matchup
The Mavs are showing signs for optimism behind the play off Flagg, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and now sit 3.5 games out of the Western Conference’s top 10 with their 19-29 record. The team has lost three straight going into Saturday, but that streak comes on the heels of a four-game winning streak where they averaged nearly 130 points per night and beat the Golden State Warriors (123-115) and New York Knicks (114-97). Last time out, Flagg scored a career-high 49 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 123-121 loss to the Hornets on Thursday night.

The Rockets cap a busy four-game week as 11.5-point favorites to take down the Mavericks are going 2-1 in their previous three contests with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies (108-99), a loss to the San Antonio Spurs (111-99) and a win in Atlanta over the Hawks (104-86). Durant topped the 30-point mark for the third in five games in that victory on Thursday, leading the Rockets with 31 points as the team’s other four starters managed just 42 combined.
