Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George has been suspended by the NBA for 25 games for violations of the league’s anti-drug policy. _In a statement to ESPN’s Shams Charania, George said, “Over the past few years, I’ve discussed the importance of mental health, and in the course of recently seeking treatment for an issue of my own, I made the mistake of taking an improper medication. I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to the [Sixers](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/phi/philadelphia-76ers) organization, my teammates and the Philly fans for my poor decision making during this process._

Philadelphia will have 10 games left in their 2025-26 regular season when George is eligible to return. They currently carry a 26-21 record, good for sixth in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. George, a 16-year veteran, is averaging 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in 30.5 minutes per game over 27 starts for the Sixers this year.
