If Chelsea fans had been told that after going a month without a Premier League win, Liam Rosenior would guide the Blues to six wins in seven games, many would have laughed.
But wins against Charlton, Brentford, Pafos and Crystal Palace saw Rosenior win four of his first five ahead of what was his most important week yet, as Blues boss. Napoli in Europe, before West Ham at the Bridge.
Steven Gerrard thought Rosenior got it “spot on” against Napoli as Chelsea came from behind to beat Antonio Conte’s side, and book Chelsea’s place in the last 16 of the Champions League without a play-off.

A massive result. Then, on Saturday night back in London, Rosenior prepared his side for remarkably, a fifth London-based opponent. Chelsea were 2-0 down at half-time, but miraculously secured a 3-2 win.

“Maybe boos at half-time from Chelsea fans, but at the end it was wild. Chelsea are rampant under Liam Rosenior. A lot of Chelsea fans were not sure about him! You have got egg on your face,” Sutton said.

Earlier in the week, Joe Cole said: “Fantastic, superb. A lot of people talk about what he’s been saying but you need to look at the team. They’ve won five out of six and go to Napoli and win. Can’t really knock it.”
Rosenior will now be hoping to make it seven wins from eight when Chelsea face Arsenal in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night, with a chance to win a trophy at stake.
