Kansas shooting guard Darryn Peterson and BYU forward AJ Dybantsa are widely viewed as the projected top two picks in the upcoming [NBA Draft](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-basketball/kansas/news/nba-executives-split-darryn-peterson-vs-aj-dybantsa-no-1-pick-latest-espn-poll/eb4c060f292d99b82dc5b670).
The duo have turned their first collegiate matchup into a must-see event for league decision-makers. At least 32 NBA front office personnel from 17 teams are expected to be in attendance, including seven general managers or primary decision-makers. Atlanta Hawks owner Tony Ressler is also slated to attend, according to [ESPN's Pete Thamel](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/47786399/kansas-peterson-byu-dybantsa-top-draft-prospects).
Several teams are sending multiple representatives, proving how big the stakes of the evaluation are before June. The Hawks are expected to have five attendees on hand, while the Indiana Pacers are sending six. Both the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards will have three front office members present, according to multiple NBA sources.
Executives remain split in their evaluations. Some favor Peterson’s physicality and ability to contribute immediately at the next level. Others are drawn to Dybantsa’s size, athleticism and long-term upside, viewing his ceiling as difficult to pass up despite the developmental curve.
Saturday’s game also carries adds a sidebar due to Peterson’s health. Scouts are eager to see how he looks after missing Kansas’ game against Kansas State last weekend with an ankle sprain. Peterson has also missed nine games in two separate stretches earlier this season because of a hamstring injury and has dealt with cramping issues.
Peterson is averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 42% from 3-point range. Dybantsa is averaging 23.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists, and has appeared in all 20 games for BYU.
