Leeds United
Leeds United were heading into this weekend with a lot of optimism. After the result against Everton on Monday night, fans were also given a confidence boost after news in the transfer market.
The 49ers have been active over the last few weeks trying to put some deals together before the transfer deadline arrives. One deal that will definitely be off the table is Jorgen Strand Larsen. Wolves are adamant that the striker will not be sold if his £45 million valuation is met. Crystal Palace are also in talks, but nothing has been confirmed yet. So far this month, Facundo Buonanotte has been the only arrival at Elland Road.

Leeds United could be without defender for next game
Leeds United were handed a painful lesson on Saturday when they went up against Arsenal. Many people expected the game to be much closer than it was considering how good the Whites have been at Elland Road against better opposition. But Mikel Arteta’s men arrived with a gameplan and executed it perfectly. Their set piece prowess caused so many problems in the first half, and led to the two goals in the first 45 minutes. The Gunners sealed the game with two more goals in the second half, with Leeds unable to find an answer.
After the game, Daniel Farke has confirmed more bad news for the home side. James Justin has picked up an injury and is now a huge doubt for the game against Nottingham Forest. Justin went off at half time, with many thinking it was a tactical switch, but it has now been confirmed as an injury.

49ers need to eye defensive reinforcements
James Justin’s possible absence should push the 49ers to get some cover before the deadline passes. It looks like the focus of the club this month has been to add firepower, but the defence is thin. Justin had to step in for Jaka Bijol who also had a knock. It is easy to see how light Leeds are at the back when one of their defensive options picks up a knock. This is an area the club should look to address for the rest of the season. Daniel Farke’s new system means that most of the players on the field at a time will be defenders, so it makes a lot of sense adding one this week.
