The problem is what happens if they don't. If the Wizards beat the Kings, that will extend Sacramento's losing streak to nine straight. That will be the Kings' longest losing streak of the season, with the previous record in 2025-2026 being eight losses.
On top of that, the Kings have lost 12 straight games on the road and have an abysmal record away from Golden 1 Center. The Wizards still hold the longest losing streak of the season at 16, which they snapped a while ago. Unless something changes, the Kings could potentially break that streak.
No team wants to be the worst in the league, but that's where the Kings are at this moment. And there is actual potential for them to slide even further into the abyss. For fans, the main source of hope is big roster changes at the trade deadline, the NBA Draft, and through the offseason.
