Is Bronny James playing for Lakers tomorrow vs. Knicks?

Bronny James hasn’t been bad in the Los Angeles Lakers’ last two contests.

While the 21-year-old’s playing time has been limited, he’s been productive when JJ Redick calls his number. James finished with eight points on 100% field goal shooting on 100% three-point shooting in eight minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

James followed up that performance with a four-point outing against the Washington Wizards in five minutes, but only connected on 33.3% of his field goals and failed to net a three-point jumper. Still, it’s encouraging that the USC product is being more aggressive on the offensive end.

Surprisingly, though, James landed on the injury report ahead of the Lakers’ Sunday night clash against the New York Knicks.

Is Bronny James playing for the Lakers tomorrow vs. the Knicks?

James is officially listed as questionable with a left calf strain. It’s unclear when James sustained the injury, but there’s a legitimate possibility that he could be sidelined with the lower-body injury. Calf strains are nothing to play with, making it risky for a player to return to action if they aren’t 100% healthy.

Although James isn’t a game-changing contributor with the Lakers, his absence would be detrimental to the franchise’s guard depth.

James is averaging 1.8 points per game on 37.0% field goal shooting and 37.5% three-point shooting this season. The 21-year-old’s status for Los Angeles’ must-see duel vs. the Knicks on Sunday will become clearer closer to tip-off (7:00 p.m.).
