Is Austin Reaves playing for Lakers tomorrow vs. Knicks?

It feels like an eternity since Austin Reaves has competed in a contest with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 6-foot-5 breakout star has been sidelined for a little over a month due to a calf strain. While the injury doesn’t appear to be season-ending, it isn’t a great sign that Reaves hasn’t progressed well enough yet to re-enter the Lakers’ lineup.

Reaves’ health will be a major storyline heading into the Lakers’ blockbuster Sunday night matchup vs. the New York Knicks.

Is Austin Reaves playing for the Lakers tomorrow vs. the Knicks?

Reaves is questionable for the Los Angeles’ upcoming regular season contest against the Knicks due to his calf strain.

Although Luka Doncic has elevated his play since Reaves’ unfortunate injury and kept the Lakers afloat in the Western Conference, it’s safe to assume he would love for his backcourt in crime to suit up for Los Angeles sooner than later.

When Doncic has off nights, and Reaves isn’t active, there's a high probability the Lakers won’t come out victorious. When Doncic is struggling, and Reaves is there to pick up the slack, Los Angeles’ chances of prevailing improve.

The Oklahoma product’s combination of grit, physicality as a driver, and late-game takeover ability makes him difficult to contain. Reaves is averaging 26.6 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game this season.

Hopefully, Reaves will compete in his first game with the Lakers since Christmas Day on Sunday night.
