The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the most impressive teams of the 2025-26 season. They came into the season with low expectations, but they are firmly in the postseason race in the Eastern Conference.
They currently have a 27-21 record, which is good for sixth in the East. At the same time, they are on a three-game winning streak, which has been driven mostly by Joel Embiid's return to the top-tier basketball.
Embiid's teammates appreciate his leadership
The 76ers' game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday was significant for the team. They were not only playing in front of the team that made the 2001 NBA Finals, but they also had landmark performances across the board.
Embiid himself was one of the best performers on the night. He had 40 points and 11 rebounds to set the standard for Philly. At the same time, he was also leading by example, including taking a charge against Zion Williamson.
