Joel Embiid makes heartfelt post after 76ers’ win vs Pelicans

Following a big night for the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid was feeling extremely positive.

For Saturday’s festivities, which included the celebration of the Sixers’ last NBA Finals squad, Embiid had his son in the building. Following his impressive performance, Embiid was joined by Arthur Embiid on the court. The toddler made an appearance in Embiid’s postgame interview, along with showing up in his heartfelt social media post.

Once again, Embiid had a game that would silence his biggest critics on Saturday night.

The veteran center checked in for 39 minutes. He shot 13-27 from the field, and went 11-14 from the charity stripe. The star center had his first 40-point game of the 2025-2026 NBA season.

It was a double-double outing for Embiid, who also came down with 11 rebounds. He added four assists, one steal, and two blocks to his stat line as well.

On Saturday, the Sixers suffered a tough blow hours before hosting the New Orleans Pelicans. They found out that the multi-time All-Star forward Paul George was going to be suspended for 25 games. Heading into Saturday’s action, the Sixers knew they needed to quickly begin to utilize the next-man-up mentality.

Embiid surely stepped up. The Sixers defeated the Pelicans 124-114. They advance to 27-21 on the year, moving within one game of the fifth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
