Liverpool are racing against the clock as transfer deadline day looms, with only until Monday to finalise their January transfer dealings. As a result, the Reds are being linked with several potential new signings.

However, recent days have seen intensified speculation about current Liverpool players potentially moving on before the deadline.

This month, Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Andy Robertson, while Curtis Jones has been linked with a loan move to Inter Milan with an option to buy.

In terms of incoming talent, Liverpool continue to be linked with bolstering their defence, especially with Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni all currently injured, reports the Mirror.

Jeremy Jacquet update

Liverpool remain linked with a move for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet before the January transfer window closes.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool, along with Chelsea, have expressed interest in Jacquet and are in talks with Rennes ahead of Monday's deadline.

Despite Liverpool engaging in discussions with the Ligue 1 club, even if a deal is struck, the defender won't be making his way to Anfield until at least the summer. This is due to the French club's firm stance that a mid-season departure is not an option.

Bayern Munich have also been previously associated with signing Jacquet, but recent reports suggest that a move to the Bundesliga titans is "unlikely" at this point.

Wataru Endo claim

In other news, there's been an update on Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo's future, who is reportedly drawing attention ahead of Monday's deadline.

Voetbal Primeur has reported that Ajax are keen on signing Endo, but it won't be straightforward to seal the deal.

Indeed, the report continues to say that Endo is deemed "unattainable" in the current transfer window, with Ajax seemingly abandoning their interest in the midfielder.

Ajax have also earmarked Manuel Ugarte (Manchester United), Christian Norgaard (Arsenal) and Lucas Torreira (Galatasaray) as potential midfield targets, but none seem likely to depart their current clubs before the deadline.
