Yuki Kawamura made a memorable Chicago Bulls regular-season debut in Miami, scoring 6 points, adding 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 11 minutes, and called it "amazing" to play in clutch NBA moments while promising he's "not satisfied yet."
Chicago Bulls point guard Yuki Kawamura made his season debut on Saturday night and left a memorable mark, helping the depleted Bulls secure a 125-118 road win over the Miami Heat.
The Japanese playmaker scored his first official points for Chicago, finishing with 6 points (2/4 FG, 2/3 3PT), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 11 minutes.
He knocked down a pair of threes, delivered key assists, and played important minutes in the fourth quarter.
"That feels so good. It was my first time playing in clutch time in the NBA," Kawamura said post-game, via K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network. "I felt so amazing. I got locked in."
It was a night to remember for the 24-year-old guard.
"I've been a big Chicago Bulls fan my whole life. I'm so happy to be here," Kawamura added. "I just wanted to bring energy from the bench. But I got to be better, I'm not satisfied yet."
Kawamura fought to force Jakucionis into the jump ball, then somehow stole the tip, sending commentators into a frenzy.
"It was my first win since I started basketball," Kawamura said on winning the jump ball. "I'm so happy."
Kawamura, a former Memphis Grizzlies player, signed a two-way deal with the Bulls in early January.
He had played for Chicago's Summer League team in 2025 but was waived in the preseason. The Bulls brought him back after he recovered from a blood clot.
With the win, Chicago improves to 24-25 and sits 9th in the Eastern Conference.
