Chelsea look to have struck a deal to offload a defender ahead of the deadline.
Chelsea are now close to agreeing a new deal as they race the clock to wrap up all of their business ahead of Monday’s deadline. The Blues have been looking to strengthen their ranks this month, keen on signing a centre-back and a midfielder this month, but they have so far been unsuccessful on both fronts.
Chelsea want Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, and it does seem as though that deal remains alive heading towards Monday’s 7pm deadline.

And that has indeed turned out to be the case, with Anselmino now headed back out on loan, this time to join sister club Strasbourg, a player Rosenior is able to provide plenty of advice about having come from the French outfit.
Fabrizio Romano has reported: “Aaron Anselmino to RC Strasbourg, here we go! Deal in place over loan until the end of the season. Argentinian defender was never gonna return to Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea pick RC Strasbourg as best solution. Formal steps to follow.”
Strasbourg are now managed by former Wolves boss Gary O’Neil following the departure of Rosenior to Chelsea, and the French club are seventh, one point off the European spots.
