With the pursuit of Jeremy Jacquet pushed back until the summer and Chelsea’s search for a new midfielder coming to no avail, the chances of a new signing seem small.
The Blues continue to churn out results under the stewardship of Liam Rosenior, winning a sixth game in seven under the Englishman on Saturday evening. That is despite West Ham leading the game 2-0.
Indeed, it is the first time Chelsea have ever come from two goals down at half-time to win in the Premier League. Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez all scored to secure a sixth victory.

Despite a lack of signings this month, Chelsea remain in good form. The club could do with a defender and a midfielder, but with the deadline on Monday evening, time is surely running out for a new star.
Liam Rosenior responds when asked about a new signing
Speaking live to Sky Sports after the win, Rosenior fielded questions from Rob Green and Jamie Redknapp about the victory, what was said in the dressing room, and his overall start to life at Stamford Bridge.

But then, Rosenior was asked about the January window and whether, before the deadline on Monday evening, Chelsea would make a new signing. Rosenior opened the door to Chelsea getting a deal done.
Asked if there will be a signing before the deadline, he said: “Possibly, but I have respect for my team and I have respect for any players who aren’t in the building. I won’t be telling you what position that is.”
If Chelsea do make a signing, who could it be?
It could be a completely off-the-cuff, random signing. Plenty of players have been linked with the exit door, with Raheem Sterling now a free agent, Kendry Paez going to River Plate and plenty more deals.
Would Curtis Jones be a good signing for Chelsea? 👀

Axel Disasi could even join West Ham on loan before the deadline. But little has come out in recent days regarding a new signing, with the last credible link likely being Liverpool and England star Curtis Jones.
Watch this space, and while it does feel unlikely a new body will be through the gates at Cobham before the deadline, Rosenior has opened the door and that will feed into fans’ excitement come deadline day.
