Brazilian attacker Kendry Paez has joined Argentine side River Plate for the rest of this year, having been recalled from Strasbourg, the Blues have now officially confirmed on the club website.
CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘Paez spent the first half of the current season in France with Strasbourg, making 21 appearances for the Ligue 1 side across all competitions, but has now moved to River Plate for the remainder of 2026.
‘The Argentine side finished fourth in the 2025 Primera Division and recently opened their new campaign with back-to-back wins.
‘Paez officially joined Chelsea after his 18th birthday in May 2025. He already had considerable experience from his 70 senior appearances for Independiente del Valle in his homeland Ecuador, and has also earned 23 international caps for his country.
‘The attacking-midfielder now returns to South America to continue his development with River Plate.
‘Good luck Kendry!’
IcChelseanews says…
The lad is brilliantly talented and we are hoping that a few more loan moves will help his development, because he would not really be getting what he needed from sitting on the bench every week here.
He will be alot more happy playing in South America, as the move probably came a little too early for the lad and to be honest, we wouldnt be surprised to see him stay where he is for next season too.
This is a very smart decision from CHELSEA to allow Paez to go out on loan, as we said, he needs to play and his time in Europe has not seen the best of this lad, he is seriously gifted.
