Reds boss Arne Slot has opened up and revealed that he fully expects shock Tottenham target Andy Robertson to stay at Liverpool during this January transfer window.
Since joining from Hull City for a bargain £8m in 2017, the Scot has been virtually undroppable, amassing over 360 appearances for LIVERPOOL. However, the current campaign has painted a different picture.
The *LIVERPOOL*‘ vice-captain has rotated at left-back for the majority of the season with £40m summer signing Milos Kerkez and the Scotland captain faces the toughest competition he’s had for a place in the side since he broke into the team.
Robertson has recently publicly opened the door to a potential exit this summer, acknowledging that his lack of game time is a major factor as he approaches the end of his contract in the summer, and that opened the door for Tottenham to make a move this January.
Tottenham have been linked with alot of players over the course of the transfer window, but so far, boss Tomas Frank has not got the players that he would have liked, and it seems that he will also not be getting Robertson.
Speaking about the Scotland defender before the game against Newcastle, Slot said: “Robbo is part of the team tomorrow evening and he has been apart of this squad for many years. Happy to have him, it’s good that he’s available because that’s quite important for us at the moment, to have players available.
Nothing happened my side. It’s hard to say anything definite with the world we live in [whether he stays this month] but I expect him to say, yes.”

There are alot of people out there that were shocked to see that Tottenham very very interested in getting a transfer deal done for Robertson, but there are few shocked to see that Slot wants to keep hold for now.
A move away this January for Robertson is the not the best decision, the decision to keep hold right now is the best thing to thing, Robertson is a quality player to have in the side.
