Coach very excited with signing of‘commanding centre-back’after Arsenal January deal done!

Grimsby Head Coach David Artell has opened up and revealed that he is delighted with the signing of Madini Kacurri, who completed his move from Arsenal during the Janaury transfer window.

The transfer window has been open for a few weeks now, there has been alot of transfer rumours regarding ARSENAL and who they could acquire, but despite all the speculation, it has been a pretty boring window for Gunners fans to witness.

There has been more players leave the club than come in, and with only a few days left of the transfer window left, the Gunners are still working hard on getting some of the fringe players in the side out of the club before the deadline closes on Monday.

After signing his first professional contract with Arsenal in July 2024, Maldini made his senior debut for the Gunners in the EFL Cup and went on to gain valuable first-team experience during loan spells with Bromley and Morecambe.

And Arsenal made the decision to allow Kacurri leave the club after a permanent basis after Grimsby made the decision to sign the young defender from the Gunners, rather than take him on another loan deal.

And after getting his new player, Artell opened up and revealed his delight at the deal, he told the Grimsby website: “Maldini is a physically strong, commanding centre-back who will add real presence and resilience to our defence.

‘He brings aggression, aerial dominance, and the ability to compete at a high level, which is exactly what we need to strengthen the backline.

‘Beyond his defensive qualities, he’s a young player with huge potential, and we’re excited about the energy, attitude, and determination he will bring to the squad both on and off the pitch.”

GOOD MOVE FOR KACURRI TO MAKE?

At this stage of his career, the young man needs to be playing more regular football, he needs to make a name for himself and forge a long and successful footballing career, so this is the right move.

His dreams of playing for ARSENAL are over, now it is time to make a name for himself in the lower Leagues and then possibly work his way back upto the Premier League in the coming seasons, he is young enough and talented to do that.

But as we said, this move suits everyone.
