Chelsea are preparing a £69m bid for a "magic" Atletico Madrid star who is now a priority target, with Liam Rosenior personally keen.
Blues looking to make game-changing new signing
Rosenior has made a fantastic start to life as Chelsea boss, winning five of his first six matches in charge, and the most recent of which came against London rivals West Ham United, but his side didn't make things easy for themselves.
The Blues went in 2-0 down at the break, but goals from Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella restored parity, before Enzo Fernandez bagged a stoppage-time winner to ensure the west Londoners moved up to fourth in the Premier League table.
Since his arrival, Rosenior has been full of praise for Enzo, saying: "He's already a world class player. He's not surprised me. But it's been amazing to get to know him. He's a winner. His standards and habits, he wants to learn. While I'm here, I am excited to see what we can get out of him."
However, the manager is now keen on making a new addition to his midfield, according to a report from Spain, which states Chelsea are preparing a €80m (£69m) offer for Atletico Madrid star Pablo Barrios, as they look to make a game-changing addition to the squad.
Barrios is now a priority target for the Blues, with Rosenior personally keen, but Atletico are in a strong negotiating position, given that he is under contract until 2030.

However, the Premier League side are undeterred, and willing to make a 'historic move in the transfer market', as they believe the central midfielder could be a key player for the next decade.
"Magic" Barrios could be solid signing for Chelsea
Lauded for his "Iniesta-esque magic" by scout Jacek Kulig, the 22-year-old has been a very important player for Atletico this season, missing only one La Liga game, during which time he has showcased his defensive attributes.
The Spaniard has averaged 1.1 interceptions per game in La Liga, the joint-second highest number in the squad, while an average of one key pass per match ranks him in third place, with the midfielder particularly impressing against Osasuna earlier this season.
It may be difficult for the Atletico star to dislodge Moises Caicedo in the starting XI, however, given that the Ecuadorian has averaged 2.3 interceptions per game in the Premier League this term.
Enzo is more impressive than Barrios from an attacking point of view, bagging eight goals in the league this season, while the four-time Spain international has one goal to his name in La Liga.

The Blues have set out to sign a new centre-back.
However, Chelsea will need strength in depth if they are going to become title contenders, and the Madrid-born maestro could be a solid addition to the squad.
