Gianluca Di Marzio claims AC Milan have just signed a player from Chelsea

There are fewer than 36 hours between now and the end of the January transfer window, and Chelsea could still make a new signing before the deadline strikes.

Liam Rosenior has opened the door to a potential signing before the window shuts, but the chances are that most of Chelsea’s business in the next day or so will be potential exits, players leaving the club.

Indeed, Aaron Anselmino looks likely to be joining Strasbourg on loan after he was recalled from German side Borussia Dortmund. Others have been linked with an exit, while Raheem Sterling is a free agent.

Axel Disasi is a target for West Ham in the final hours of the window and there are other fringe players that could leave the club, like Kendry Paez has done after his recall, joining Argentine side River Plate.

Chelsea youngster set for AC Milan move in surprise deal

Yahya Idrissi Regragui has been a regular in Chelsea’s U18 side over the last year or two. It comes after the 18-year-old joined Chelsea from West Ham back in 2021, with the youngster still at academy level.

Since then, he has risen through the ranks at Chelsea and boasts a contract until the summer of 2028. Already, Regragui has clocked up 26 appearances for Chelsea’s U18s, but this season, only one outing.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio reports something out of the blue. While Chelsea were in action on Saturday night, the Sky Italy reporter declared on X that Regragui is completing a move to Italian side Milan.

Di Marzio posted on X yesterday: “AC Milan has signed Yahya Idrissi Regragui from Chelsea on a permanent transfer. The player is already in Milan.”

Which other players could leave Chelsea before deadline…

Disasi and Anselmino are expected to go before the deadline on Monday evening but plenty could end up joining them. Marc Guiu may fancy a loan having gone on loan to Sunderland before it was cancelled.

Then there is the future of Tyrique George, who is earning plenty of interest from Premier League clubs. Filip Jorgensen has been linked with clubs over the last month, like Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham.

There is plenty of work to be done at Cobham before the end of the window but unfortunately for fans, it is more likely to be players leaving the club, rather than players joining Rosenior’s Chelsea revolution.

Regragui, meanwhile, continues the trend of players leaving Chelsea for Milan. Christian Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christopher Nkunku have all left Chelsea to join the Italian giants.
