“No, No” – Liam Rosenior told he can’t start €46.2m Chelsea star against Arsenal

Former Chelsea striker Craig Burley has warned Liam Rosenior not to start Alejandro Garnacho against Arsenal on Tuesday.

Chelsea came from 2-0 down at half time to beat West Ham 3-2 on Saturday, and make it three league wins in a row.

Joao Pedro halved the deficit, before Marc Cucurella scored the equaliser and Enzo Fernandez fired home the winner in stoppage time.

Liam Rosenior warned not to start Alejandro Garnacho vs Arsenal

Having played Napoli in midweek Rosenior rotated the side and made seven changes, which clearly didn’t work as Chelsea found themselves 2-0 down.

Garnacho was handed a start, but the Argentine really struggled and was arguably at fault for both goals as he failed to track his runner.

The 21-year-old offered very little in terms of attacking threat and was replaced at half time by Joao Pedro who continued his good form with a goal and assist.

Garnacho’s performance was nowhere near the standard required, and Burley has warned Rosenior not to play him against Arsenal next week.

“Alejandro Garnacho is the type of player who comes on at 75-80 minutes when everybody is knackered and there’s a bit of space for him to use his pace,” Burley told ESPN FC.

“But as a starter for Chelsea? No, no.”

Garnacho has scored six goals and registered three assists in 26 appearances in all competitions, but his biggest impact has come from the bench.

Chelsea need to upgrade their wingers

Chelsea have invested heavily in the wide areas under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership, but arguably need to upgrade in that area once again.

Garnacho and Jamie Gittens don’t appear to be anywhere near the level required currently, whilst Pedro Neto has been very out of form recently.

Estevao is arguably the only winger who looks to make things happen and takes his man on, and Rosenior really need to find a way to improve the current wide players.
