Crysencio Summerville continued his scoring hot streak against Chelsea with a sublime finish, but unfortunately for the Hammers, it would only result in being a consolation come the end of the game.
Summerville’s fine form continued, with him scoring in four of four games with a sublime finish. A ball played across by Bowen and thumped in by Summerville gave us a two-nil lead, but that elation would obviously be numbed as Chelsea nicked all the points at the end of the game.
Whether the result went our way or not, Summerville utterly deserves his praises; he has been simply brilliant in Nuno’s new style of play and if we attempt to play this way for longer, we can only assume that he’ll continue on his fine form, which will hopefully translate into more points for the Hammers in the future.
He’s had a brilliant collaboration with Taty Castellenos since he joined the club and it appears that he works much better when having a counter partner uptop.
Despite scoring a brilliant goal, he also had multiple chances that he created with Taty, some of which he’d wriggle into the box before being tackled and others that were narrowly missed, which was ultimately the summary of the match, narrowly missed.
You can only imagine how disappointing it is for Summerville as he’s recovered from having lengthy injuries to perform at a world-class level for us, just for others to blow up the game and ruin those significant moments, however, Football can’t be viewed in that way and in honesty, the best way to view it is admire the fact that we have a player who’s able to perform at this ability and hope that his individual confidence continues to grow and that transpires into all the remaining games we have this season, of which we desperately need him for.
He could end up being our saviour this season, but only time will be able to tell. There are still 14 games for Nuno’s side this season, and if Summerville can continue his form, I’m certain we’ll be in the Premier League next season. It’s just that others around, primarily the defence as well as Nuno himself, need to iron out the creases.
