£100k-a-week working on Arsenal exit–Coach delighted after Gunners deal–Arsenal wants£87M swap deal

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Julian Alvarez, Gabriel Martinelli and Maldini Kacurri that you may have missed…

There has been some shock reports in the media this weekend which have now claimed that Arsenal are ready to offer a player-plus-cash deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez at the end of the season.

Last summer the Gunners splashed some serious money signing Viktor Gyokeres after the big striker proved himself to be one of the most dangerous attackers in world football, but his return of goals this season represents a poor return for a player ARSENAL paid £64m for last summer.

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Arsenal are very much interested in trying to sign Alvarez for a reported £81 million, with many reports suggesting that Madrid will be open to letting the striker leave the club.

And now it has been claimed that Julian Alvarez is said to be unhappy at Atletico Madrid, as Arsenal plot a player-plus cash deal for the Argentine striker.

With Alvarez said to be open to a move away from Atletico, TEAMtalk report that Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli – who were each involved in the club’s 4-0 win at Leeds on Saturday afternoon – have been mentioned as potential makeweights in a deal.

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have also been sounded out for interest, but the Gunners are keen to win any transfer race for the player, who celebrates his 26th birthday today.

The news comes after Pundit Gary Lineker suggested ARSENAL should pursue Alvarez this summer and says his arrival in north London would be devastating for their domestic rivals: ‘They’ve not got anyone really banging in the goals on a regular basis,’ Lineker said on The Rest is Football podcast after Arsenal’s defeat to Manchester United.

‘Gabriel Jesus has come back and scored one or two but there was a reason they needed to sign a new No. 9 in the first place.

‘I like Jesus and always have, he’s got a great work ethic, he chases and harries and does get a few goals. He’s a bit streaky – when he’s on he’s on but when he’s off he a bit of a confidence player.

‘It’s probably complete b*** as most of these things are on social media but I saw they were linked with Julian Alvarez who I know is not entirely happy with life at Atletico.

‘Now that is the sort of player you know can handle the big occasion – he’s a World Cup winner for crying out loud. Someone like that at Arsenal would be game over.

‘But they do need one or two of these current forwards to start scoring on a reasonably regular basis.’

MARTINELLI WORKING ON EXIT?

Here is the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours, as forward Gabriel Martinelli could reportedly be making plans to leave and join a new club in the summer transfer window, as the Gunners are reportedly ready to sell the attacker.

Over the past few transfer windows, Mikel Arteta has been given the money to spend and sign players that have made a real difference to that squad, so much so, that he now has one of the best in Europe.

But with all the signings that ARSENAL have made over the past few windows, it has meant that players like Martinelli have not got the game time that they would like as Mikel Arteta has a number of players in the side that also deserve to play.

Now, the Fichajes website have claimed a Very reliable sources state that Gabriel Martinelli’s representatives are making plans for next season with a different club, as there are reports that Arsenal are ready to let the star leave and replace him with Atletico Madrid star Julian AlvarezArsenal wants sign ‘UNHAPPY’ £87M star in player-plus-cash transfer deal.

Martinelli was heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal in the summer window, with reports that a move to Saudi Arabia was on the cards, but the Brazilian was not interested in making that move at this stage of his career.

However – the likes of PSG, Juventus and Barcelona have also been mentioned as possible destinations for the Brazilian star, the they can all get his £89 Million asking price lowered by the Gunners.

IcFootballnews Says…

Martinelli can be one of the most exciting players to watch for Arsenal, his pace and skill can really cause defenders issues, but he also has the ability to have some really poor games and make no impact whatsoever.

The summer is many months away, so anything can change between now and then, but if Martinelli does decide that he wants to leave the Gunners, then we are sure there will be a number of players that can replace the Brazilian.

As we said, ARSENAL have already reportedly made a move to sign Alvarez, and he could be a fantastic addition to that attack.

COACH HAPPY WITH KACURRI DEAL

Grimsby Head Coach David Artell has opened up and revealed that he is delighted with the signing of Madini Kacurri, who completed his move from Arsenal during the Janaury transfer window.

The transfer window has been open for a few weeks now, there has been alot of transfer rumours regarding ARSENAL and who they could acquire, but despite all the speculation, it has been a pretty boring window for Gunners fans to witness.

There has been more players leave the club than come in, and with only a few days left of the transfer window left, the Gunners are still working hard on getting some of the fringe players in the side out of the club before the deadline closes on Monday.

After signing his first professional contract with Arsenal in July 2024, Maldini made his senior debut for the Gunners in the EFL Cup and went on to gain valuable first-team experience during loan spells with Bromley and Morecambe.

And Arsenal made the decision to allow Kacurri leave the club after a permanent basis after Grimsby made the decision to sign the young defender from the Gunners, rather than take him on another loan deal.

And after getting his new player, Artell opened up and revealed his delight at the deal, he told the Grimsby website: “Maldini is a physically strong, commanding centre-back who will add real presence and resilience to our defence.

‘He brings aggression, aerial dominance, and the ability to compete at a high level, which is exactly what we need to strengthen the backline.

‘Beyond his defensive qualities, he’s a young player with huge potential, and we’re excited about the energy, attitude, and determination he will bring to the squad both on and off the pitch.”

GOOD MOVE FOR KACURRI TO MAKE?

At this stage of his career, the young man needs to be playing more regular football, he needs to make a name for himself and forge a long and successful footballing career, so this is the right move.

His dreams of playing for ARSENAL are over, now it is time to make a name for himself in the lower Leagues and then possibly work his way back upto the Premier League in the coming seasons, he is young enough and talented to do that.

But as we said, this move suits everyone.
